PM Modi Approves 17th Installment of PM Kisan Scheme, Benefits 9.3 Crore Farmers

Sunil Jakhar, the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, stating that it was evident in his first decision of the third term, where he approved the release of the installment of the ‘PM Kisan Nidhi’ scheme.

Prime Minister Modi, at the onset of his third term, on Monday, signed the file to release the 17th installment of Rs. 20,000 crore under the ‘PM Kisan Nidhi’ scheme, benefiting approximately 9.3 crore farmers.

Jakhar remarked that Prime Minister Modi’s approval to distribute Rs. 20,000 crore among farming families under this installment showcases his dedication to addressing the issues of farmers comprehensively.

In a statement, Jakhar said, “This decision will benefit many lakhs of farmers in Punjab. The money will be transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers, thereby increasing their income.”

The PM Kisan Nidhi scheme, initiated by the government, aims to provide financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers, payable in three equal installments. The scheme is designed to augment the income of farmers and ensure their financial stability.
