Goa-based IoT startup Spintly has received national recognition for its contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship. At the recent Sankalp Se Siddhi celebration—held to mark 11 years of the Modi government and one year of Modi 3.0—Spintly was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation under the Startup India Mission.
The certificate was presented by Goa’s Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte. The recognition highlights Spintly’s journey from a homegrown idea in Goa to a globally expanding tech venture in the field of smart building access control.
Founded by engineers Malcolm Dsouza (CTO) and Rohin Parkar (CEO), Spintly started with a simple yet ambitious goal—to make access control systems smarter and wireless. The duo envisioned a future where managing entry to secure spaces would be seamless, cloud-based, and user-friendly. Today, that vision has translated into one of India’s fastest-scaling IoT startups.
Spintly’s innovative platform enables smartphone-based, contactless access to buildings and secured areas. Its solutions are now being used in commercial buildings, co-working spaces, and high-security zones across India and the U.S.
What makes Spintly’s journey unique is its deep-rooted support from Goa’s startup ecosystem. It was one of the earliest beneficiaries of the Seed Capital Scheme under the state’s Startup Policy, administered by the Startup and IT Promotion Cell of the Department of IT, Electronics and Communications. This early-stage support allowed the team to prototype, pilot, and refine its tech—well before it caught the attention of private investors.
“This recognition reflects the passion and perseverance of our team,” said Malcolm Dsouza. “Building world-class technology from Goa has always been our vision, and the state gave us both the foundation and the launchpad to grow.”
Spintly has so far raised ₹50 crore from a mix of Indian and global investors and is currently valued at around ₹300 crore. But beyond numbers, its success tells a larger story—Goa is fast emerging as a serious startup destination.
Backed by growing infrastructure, proactive government policies, and a collaborative startup community, Goa is shedding its laid-back-only image. It is now being seen as a promising hub where founders can both live well and build big.
And with Spintly leading the way, the future looks bright—and smart—for Goa’s innovation landscape.
