RVNL’s Share Price Jumps 3% Following ₹156 Crore Order from South Western Railway

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) surged by 3.25% on the NSE, reaching ₹349 per share on Friday morning, following the company’s announcement of securing an order worth ₹156 crore from South Western Railway. The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 2X25 KV OHE & PSI system, including electrical general services and telecommunication works between Rayadurga and Topavagada on the TK-RDG section. This project is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Despite this new order, RVNL reported a marginal decline in revenue for the quarter ending December 2024, totaling ₹4590.75 crore, down from the previous year. Net profit also decreased by 9.51%, from ₹325.98 crore to ₹294.99 crore, while operating profit fell slightly from ₹572.73 crore to ₹546.52 crore.

Additionally, RVNL secured another major contract worth ₹729.82 crore from HPSEBL for the development of distribution infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, expected to be completed within 24 months.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd operates as an extension of the Ministry of Railways.
