Jaipur Audi Horror: Drunk Driver Kills 1, Injures 15 in Hit-and-Run Rampage

A speeding Audi turned deadly in Jaipur’s Kharbas Circle area late Friday night, ramming into food stalls and crushing 16 people in a suspected drunk driving hit-and-run. One victim, Bhilwara resident Ramesh Bairwa—a food stall helper—died from injuries, while 15 others fight for recovery across city hospitals.

The luxury car, registered in Daman and Diu, first smashed into a traffic circle boundary before veering into the crowded service lane of Patrakar Colony around 10 pm. It ploughed through roadside dhabas, overturning stalls, scattering food, footwear, and debris before hitting a tree and flipping. Police suspect high speed and alcohol influence; CCTV footage captured the chaos.

Four occupants were inside—driver and two others fled, one detained. Interrogations identify fugitives from Churu and Renwal (Ajmer); teams hunt them. The Audi was seized.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma ordered top treatment and strict action. Deputy CM Premchand Bairwa, Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, and MoS Home Jawahar Singh Bedam visited hospitals, ensuring government-funded care. Three injured were discharged; others stable.

Outrage grows over drunk driving enforcement in the Pink City, with DCP South Rajarshi Raj vowing arrests.
