Utsav App, a Kolkata-based spiritual tech startup, has successfully raised INR 6.35 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Equanimity Investments, with participation from its existing investor India Quotient.
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its operations by onboarding more temples and integrating AI-driven features into its technology, enhancing the user experience.
Co-founder Sourajit Basu expressed gratitude for the support from both investors, emphasizing Utsav’s mission to merge devotion with technology.
Founded in 2021 by Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta, Utsav App offers users a platform to book authentic pujas, receive e-prasad deliveries, and consult verified pandits.
The latest funding comes at a pivotal time, as spiritual tech is gaining momentum, particularly with global attention focused on India’s Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings.
Utsav’s growth trajectory mirrors the increasing interest in this sector, which is projected to reach a market value of $58.86 billion in 2023, with a 10% annual growth rate expected through 2032.
Utsav’s fundraising aligns with a broader trend in the spiritual tech space, with other companies such as Tech4Billion Media and Kuku FM also entering the market.
Kuku FM launched its own Bhakti app ahead of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, receiving over 500,000 downloads during its testing phase. As the sector expands, Utsav’s innovation and strategic partnerships position it well to capitalize on the growing demand for digital spiritual services.
