Pakistan: Gunmen Kill 23 in Balochistan After Stopping Buses

At least 23 people were killed in Balochistan’s Musakhel district on Monday when armed men targeted passengers from Punjab province. The attackers blocked the inter-provincial highway, forced passengers off trucks and buses, checked their identities, and then shot them dead. The armed men also set fire to 10 vehicles.

The victims were from Punjab province, according to Musakhail Assistant Commissioner Najeeb Kakar. Emergency services, including police and Levies officials, were deployed to transport the bodies to the hospital.

Condemnation and Vow for Justice

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attack as a terrorist act. He offered condolences to the victims’ families and vowed that the Balochistan government would pursue the terrorists and their accomplices to ensure they face justice.
