Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a prominent state-owned aerospace and defense company, has declared an interim dividend of ₹1.50 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25. This dividend represents a 150% payout on each ₹1 face value share. The announcement was made during a Board of Directors meeting on March 5, 2025.

The interim dividend is set to be paid within 30 days of the declaration, with March 11, 2025, established as the record date for determining shareholder eligibility. This decision is expected to bolster investor confidence and reward shareholders for their ongoing support.

Following the dividend announcement, BEL’s stock saw a notable increase, rising by nearly 4% to a high of ₹274.90. It opened at ₹265 and closed at ₹274.40, reflecting a 3.68% gain on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

BEL has shown impressive financial performance, reporting a 52.5% year-on-year growth in consolidated profit for Q3 FY25, reaching ₹1,311 crore. The company’s order book stands at ₹71,100 crore as of January 1, 2025, signaling strong operational momentum.

Despite some recent market volatility, BEL’s stock has surged by 31% over the past year, driven by its strong position in the defense sector. However, it has faced some short-term challenges, losing 3% in the past month and 12% over the past three months.

This dividend declaration and the company’s solid financial results highlight BEL’s commitment to maximizing shareholder value and its potential for sustained growth in the aerospace and defense industries.
