Apple has officially launched its new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models in India, powered by the cutting-edge M4 chip and boasting an all-new “Sky Blue” color variant. In a move that is sure to excite tech enthusiasts, the new MacBook Air models come at a significantly lower price point than their predecessors. The 13-inch MacBook Air M4 now starts at Rs 99,900, while the 15-inch model is priced at Rs 124,900, marking a Rs 15,000 price drop compared to last year’s MacBook Air M3 models.

The 2024 models offer a more affordable option for those looking for a powerful yet lightweight laptop. The previous generation MacBook Air models, which featured the M3 chip, were priced at Rs 114,900 for the 13-inch version and Rs 134,900 for the 15-inch variant. This price reduction makes the new MacBook Air M4 a compelling choice for students, business professionals, and anyone looking for a combination of portability and high-end performance.

In the U.S., the MacBook Air M4 models start at $999 (approximately Rs 86,800), which is $100 less than the previous generation. For educational purchases, the price drops to $899 (around Rs 78,100). While prices in India are generally higher than in the U.S. due to taxes and import duties, the new MacBook Air models are still being launched at a more affordable price compared to the 2024 M3 models.

Sky Blue Color and Design Enhancements

One of the standout features of the new MacBook Air lineup is the introduction of the “Sky Blue” color option. This light metallic blue finish creates a beautiful gradient effect, shifting in hue depending on the lighting. It joins the existing colors of Midnight, Starlight, and Silver, giving customers a wider range of personalization options. To complement the new color, Apple is also offering color-matched MagSafe charging cables with all MacBook Air models, adding a touch of cohesion to the overall design.

Improved Performance with M4 Chip

Under the hood, the MacBook Air models are powered by Apple’s advanced M4 chip, which features a 10-core CPU and an 8-core GPU. This boost in processing power offers faster performance than its predecessor, making the new MacBook Air more efficient for demanding tasks such as video editing, gaming, and multitasking. The base configuration includes 16GB of RAM, which can be upgraded to 32GB for users with more intensive needs. Storage options start at 256GB and can be configured up to a massive 2TB, providing ample space for data-heavy users.

Enhanced Features for Remote Work and Connectivity

The new MacBook Air models are equipped with a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, which ensures users are always centered during video calls by automatically adjusting the frame. This camera also supports Desk View, enabling users to showcase their workspace during virtual meetings. The M4-powered MacBook Air also boasts Thunderbolt 4 ports, a major upgrade from the previous Thunderbolt 3. These enhanced ports offer better connectivity, supporting up to two external displays while keeping the MacBook’s built-in screen active.

Other notable features include the return of the MagSafe 3 charging port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and improved stereo speakers for enhanced audio quality.

Availability

The new MacBook Air models are available for pre-order and will be officially available in stores starting March 12, offering consumers a powerful and stylish laptop with the performance and features needed for both work and play.
