Haryana: New BJP Government To Be Sworn-In On October 17, Nayab Singh Saini To Take Over As CM

Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana on October 17, 2024, following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) impressive victory in the recent assembly elections. The BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats, marking its third consecutive term in the state. Saini, who previously served as CM since March 2024, won the Ladwa constituency by a significant margin of over 16,000 votes135.

To ensure a smooth transition, a 10-member committee has been formed to oversee the swearing-in ceremony, which will take place in Panchkula. The event is expected to be attended by prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah15. Saini’s leadership has been characterized by a focus on developmental initiatives and community representation, particularly among Dalit leaders within the party13.

In his outgoing remarks, Saini expressed gratitude to the electorate for their support and announced that results for recruitment exams for nearly 25,000 posts would be released soon23. This commitment aligns with the BJP’s promises made during the election campaign.

As discussions about cabinet composition continue, several names are being considered for ministerial roles, including Krishan Lal Panwar and Rao Narbir Singh13. The new government is poised to address key issues facing Haryana while building on its electoral success.
