aytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently expressed his excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter, after his company Paytm received a recommendation from Grok, Elon Musk’s new AI tool, for booking travel tickets in India. The AI tool, developed by Musk’s company xAI, responded to a user’s query and suggested Paytm as a third-party option for booking tickets.
Grok’s Response to a Travel Query
A user on X asked Grok why they couldn’t find tickets to Bihar for May and what possible issues they might face during that time. In response, Grok, using AI, replied in Hindi: “Namaste. The reason for not getting tickets to Bihar in May may be high demand—summer vacations and wedding season are the rush. IRCTC has recently reduced advance booking from 120 to 60 days, and there are technical problems too. Try third-party apps like Paytm or railway counters.”
Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s Enthusiastic Response
Vijay Shekhar Sharma seemed thrilled after Grok mentioned Paytm. He immediately reposted Grok’s reply and thanked the AI tool. Sharma also encouraged his followers to use Paytm for booking travel tickets, saying, “Thank you @grok, and everyone do try @Paytm for your travel tickets!”
A New Milestone in AI
Elon Musk’s company xAI launched Grok 3 on February 17, 2025, with initial access limited to X Premium Plus subscribers. Grok 3 features a GPT-4o-like pre-trained model, two reasoning models, and an AI agent called Deep Search. The launch generated significant excitement, with many praising Grok’s advanced capabilities.
The xAI team highlighted Grok 3’s superiority, stating, “Grok 3 across the board is in a league of its own. Even its little brother Grok 3-Mini is reaching the frontier across all the other competitors.” The launch also saw X raise the price of its Premium+ subscription from $22 per month to $50 per month, marking the second price increase in recent months.
