The Sleep Company Appoints Ex-Eternal Exec Hemal Jain as CFO Amid 60% Revenue Surge

Direct-to-consumer (D2C) sleep solutions startup The Sleep Company has named Hemal Jain, former executive at Eternal, as its new chief financial officer (CFO). The appointment was announced via LinkedIn on Thursday.

Jain brings over 20 years of expertise in FMCG, food tech, quick commerce, B2B, and startup consulting. He has collaborated with founders and CXOs, led sizable finance teams, and steered companies from high cash burn to profitability. Most recently at Eternal, Jain previously served as global head of finance and CFO of Zomato’s Hyperpure, resigning in 2023. His career also includes a stint at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).

The hire aligns with The Sleep Company’s robust growth trajectory. Regulatory filings show operating revenue soared 60% year-on-year to Rs 499 crore in FY25. Though still reporting losses, the Mumbai-based firm narrowed them from the prior year.

Founded by Harpratap Salvi and Priyanka Salot, The Sleep Company sells mattresses, pillows, cushions, bedding, and office chairs via its website and platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. This strategic addition bolsters its push toward sustainable profitability in India’s competitive D2C sleep market.
