A 26-year-old woman named Sendo Devi tragically took her own life in Jharkhand after feeling distressed over her husband not gifting her a saree for the Dussehra festival. The incident occurred on Saturday in Bagjhopa village, Dumka district, where she allegedly jumped in front of a train.
According to police reports, Sendo had requested a new saree for the occasion, but her husband, a tractor driver, was unable to afford it. This financial constraint reportedly led to her despair. Sendo was a mother of two young children, adding to the tragedy of the situation.
Authorities have sent her body for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is currently underway.
