Closing Bell: Sensex slipped 12 points, Nifty closed at 24,315.95 points

Indian stock market recorded a slight decline today. Today's session opened on the green mark and closed in red

During today’s (11 July 2024) session Indian stock market benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty, ended flat on Thursday, 11 July, with gains in ITC, ONGC, Tata Motors and SBI offsetting losses in Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), Bajaj Finance, L&T and HDFC Bank.

Benchmark indices remained stable on Thursday, while maintaining the theme of carefully selecting some equities and taking profits from others. Experts say that the market is failing to break out of the current range due to lack of new catalysts. This trend may continue till the budget is released on July 23.

Nifty closed nearly 9 points or 0.03 per cent lower at 24,315.95, while Sensex closed 27 points or 0.03 per cent lower at 79,897.34.

The BSE midcap and smallcap indexes beat their benchmarks by gaining 0.34 and 0.57 per cent, respectively.

The market capitalisation of businesses listed on the BSE rose to over ₹451.3 lakh crore from ₹450.1 lakh crore in the previous session, making investors richer by over ₹1 lakh crore in a day.
