Catalyx Space has raised $1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round, marking a major milestone for the startup focused on developing innovative infrastructure for in-space applications.
The round was led by HF0 Residency, a prestigious hacker program backed by major investors like Google, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Naval Ravikant, with participation from Founders, Inc. and other Silicon Valley investors. These backers share a vision to create an AWS-like infrastructure for space experimentation, making space tech more accessible to a variety of stakeholders.
In its first 12 months, Catalyx Space has secured over 10 customers, launched its first spacecraft into orbit, and earned a spot in the Techstars Space Accelerator, in partnership with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the U.S. Space Force. The company has also relocated its headquarters to San Francisco and set up an engineering lab in Bengaluru.
The startup’s rapid growth includes joining the Creative Destruction Lab Space, founded by astronaut Chris Hadfield, and planning four launches this year. With these advancements, the team is excited about their future prospects and remains committed to advancing space technology.
Reflecting on the past year, the team described their journey as both exhilarating and exhausting, filled with challenges and successes. Looking ahead, Catalyx Space is dedicated to revolutionizing space exploration and making meaningful contributions to the industry.
