Air Hostess Arrested In Kerala After Nearly 1 kg Gold Found in Rectum

An air hostess was apprehended at the Kannur Airport in Kerala for allegedly smuggling gold and concealing it in her rectum, according to a source from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Friday.

The air hostess, identified as Surabhi Khatun, was discovered concealing approximately 960 grams of gold in her rectum. Surabhi Khatun serves as a cabin crew member for Air India Express flights and was part of the crew on the plane that arrived in Kannur from Muscat on May 28.

The gold was intercepted and seized by DRI officials at the Kannur Airport. Subsequently, Surabhi Khatun was presented before the magistrate and remanded to 14 days in custody.

Reports suggest that this isn’t the first instance of Surabhi Khatun engaging in gold smuggling, indicating a pattern of illicit activity.
