Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Asha Kiran Shelter Home in Rohini on Thursday to celebrate Holi with special children. She applied gulal (colored powder) on the children and extended her Holi wishes to them. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister expressed, “Celebrating Holi with the children at Asha Kiran was a wonderful experience. The children seemed very happy.”
During her visit, the Chief Minister also reviewed the facilities and accommodation arrangements at the shelter home. She stated, “I wanted to understand how the children are living here and identify any shortcomings in the arrangements. I noticed some areas that need improvement and have instructed the relevant authorities to address these issues promptly.”
She emphasized that she would conduct surprise inspections in the future to ensure improvements are made. CM Gupta also directed special care arrangements for differently-abled children and focused on enhancing the park facilities. She instructed officials to increase the shelter’s capacity to accommodate more children in need.
While wishing the people of Delhi a joyful Holi, she urged everyone to celebrate responsibly, avoid wasting water, and use natural colors. On Twitter, she also shared Holi greetings, emphasizing the victory of good over evil and encouraging positivity, love, and moral values.
