On Monday’s intraday trading session on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Shalby Limited witnessed a significant decline of 6.75% in its share price, dropping to ₹290 per share. This decline coincided with the company’s release of its first-quarter fiscal year 2024-25 (Q1 FY25) financial results.Shalby reported a consolidated revenue increase of 18.2% to ₹278 crore in Q1 FY25, up from ₹235 crore in Q1 FY24. Despite this revenue growth, the hospital chain’s Profit After Tax (PAT) saw a decrease of 20.2%, falling from ₹20.8 crore in Q1 FY24 to ₹16.6 crore in Q1 FY25.The total expenses of the hospital chain rose by 24.6% to ₹258 crore in the comparable quarter of the previous year, up from ₹207 crore. Despite a 68.32% increase in the company’s market capitalization to ₹3,233 crore, there has been no change in the company’s share price this year, reflecting a marginal decrease of 0.60%.Shalby Hospitals operates across 13 locations in eight states, including 12 multispecialty hospitals and four Shalby Orthopedic Centers of Excellence. It stands as a prominent network of multispecialty hospitals in Western and Central India.By 2:52 PM, the company’s shares had partially recovered from their intraday losses, trading at ₹300.05 per share on the BSE with a decline of 3.52%. In comparison, the BSE Sensex was down 0.14% to 79,887 levels.According to BSE data, the company’s shares are currently selling at a Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio of 32.35 and an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of ₹9.61.In conclusion, Shalby Limited’s latest financial performance reflects mixed results with revenue growth but declining profitability metrics. Investors are keenly watching how the company navigates future quarters amidst market fluctuations and operational challenges.
