As the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season kicks off, telecom giants Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have rolled out an array of enticing discounts, tariff revisions, and additional data offerings exclusively for their prepaid users.

Airtel has set its sights on the lower end of the market by revamping its existing unlimited data pack plans, catering to budget-conscious consumers. The telecom giant has slashed the price of its Rs. 49 plan to Rs. 29 and reduced the Rs. 99 plan to Rs. 79. Both plans now offer a generous fair use policy based data usage limit of 20 gigabytes per day. Furthermore, Airtel Digital TV has teamed up with Star Sports to broadcast the IPL matches, providing an immersive viewing experience for cricket enthusiasts.

On the other hand, Vi has targeted the higher end of the market with its range of offerings, aiming to enhance the IPL experience for its users. The company is providing additional data on select prepaid recharge plans, including 50% extra daily data on the Rs. 181 pack and 25% extra data on the Rs. 75 pack, with a daily cap of 1.5 gigabytes. Additionally, Vi has announced flat discounts ranging from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 on prepaid plans priced between Rs. 699 and Rs. 3,199 for the duration of the IPL season.

These special offers from Vi are exclusively available through the Vi app, providing users with convenient access to these benefits. Vi has specified that these offers will remain valid until April 1, 2024, ensuring that users can enjoy uninterrupted access to enhanced data and discounted tariffs throughout the IPL season.

A telecommunications official emphasized the significance of these offerings, noting that the advent of 5G technology has led to increased data usage among consumers. The latest packages introduced by Airtel and Vi reflect this trend, aligning with the evolving needs and preferences of users in the digital age.
