Stock Market Holiday: NSE, BSE to remain closed today on Ambedkar Jayanti

For the benefit of Dalal Street merchants and investors who are unsure if the Indian stock market will open today or not, trading at the BSE and NSE will be suspended on April 14, 2023, in observance of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti. There will be no trading activity at the Indian stock market today, according to the schedule of stock market holidays in April 2023, which is accessible on the official BSE website, bseindia.com.

According to the list of share market holidays for 2023, there will be no trading activity today in the equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments. Currency derivatives trading will also be banned at the Indian Stock Exchange today in honour of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti 2023.

Commodity market today

According to the list of stock market holidays for 2023, trading in the commodities derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments will be stopped throughout the morning session, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nonetheless, trading at the MCX and NCDEX will continue throughout the evening session. Trading in the commodities derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments will restart at 5:00 PM in the evening instead of 9:00 AM in the morning.

Stock market holidays in April 2023

There will be three stock market holidays in April 2023, according to the list of stock market holidays for 2023. The final stock market holiday in April 2023 is Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti 2023. Prior to Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti 2023, trading at the NSE and BSE was suspended on April 4, 2023, for Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday, respectively.

The next stock market holiday will be on May 1, 2023, to commemorate Maharashtra Day. According to the list of stock market holidays for 2023, there will be 19 stock market holidays in 2023, with Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti being the eighth. There will be 12 additional stock market holidays this year, with the first being Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti on May 1, 2023, followed by Buddha Pournima on May 5, 2023.

The Indian stock market’s key benchmark indexes closed higher for the ninth day in a row.
