Haryana Election Result: Day After Loss, Rahul Gandhi says Party Analysing Unexpected Results

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the media today, a day after his party’s unexpected defeat in the Haryana Assembly elections. The Congress, which had anticipated a strong performance based on exit polls, ended up securing only 37 seats, falling short of the 46 needed for a majority. In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant victory with 48 seats, marking their third consecutive term in power in the state.

In his remarks, Gandhi emphasized that the party is currently analyzing the results and will formally report complaints regarding the counting process to the Election Commission. He noted that numerous grievances have been raised from various assembly constituencies, suggesting potential irregularities during the vote counting phase. “We are analysing the unexpected results of Haryana,” he stated, expressing gratitude to party workers and voters for their support.

Despite the setback in Haryana, Gandhi highlighted a contrasting success in Jammu and Kashmir, where the Congress-National Conference alliance won 49 seats. He described this victory as a triumph for democratic values and constitutional integrity.

The Congress’s unexpected loss has sparked introspection within the party, with senior leaders questioning the counting process and alleging possible foul play. As the party navigates this challenging moment, Gandhi reaffirmed their commitment to fighting for social justice and rights in future elections
