Hong Kong’s economy is anticipated to increase 3.5%–5.5% this year after contracting 3.5% in 2022 as the city abandons the COVID-19 restrictions that had separated it from the rest of the world, according to Finance Secretary Paul Chan on Wednesday.

Chan made the prediction when introducing the financial hub’s budget for 2023–2024 in the Legislative Council.
