Mohit Joshi, the former president of Infosys who left the organisation on March 11, has been named the new CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra. Joshi will take over as Managing Director and CEO on December 20, according to a stock exchange statement from Tech Mahindra.
The company announced that Mr. Mohit Joshi (DIN: 08339247) has been appointed as the company’s managing director, chief executive officer, and key managerial personnel under the Companies Act of 2013, with effect from December 20, 2023, to December 19, 2028 (both dates inclusive). The term of current CEO CP Gurnani expires on December 19.
Joshi will start “far before the date” of his appointment as CEO and MD, according to a statement from Tech Mahindra, in order to give himself enough time for a smooth transition.
The new CEO will take over after a suitable transition period, according to Gurnani, who stated this at a recent investor meeting. During this time, he and the rest of the leadership will provide guidance. This is a train that is moving. Between myself and the future leader, there will be a comprehensible transition phase. Clearly, it is assumed that the leadership team will remain in place, and he had added, “I will be a part of the team that will ensure the transition takes place.
In June, Joshi’s employment with Infosys will come to an end; in the interim, he will be on leave. After Ravi Kumar S, a former Infosys President who also left the business and became the CEO of Cognizant in January, this represents the second significant exit for the company in recent months.
“Mohit’s appointment is the successful culmination of a rigorous selection process during which the NRC examined a number of internal and foreign candidates,” Tech Mahindra NRC Chairperson TN Manoharan said in a statement. Tech Mahindra’s strategy will benefit from Mohit’s experience with digital transformation, new technologies, and significant acquisitions, which will also help the company maintain its strong growth pace.
