Dale Vaz, Swiggy’s Chief Technology Officer, has quit after almost five years with the firm. Vaz joined Swiggy after working for Amazon for eleven years. Madhusudhan Rao, who has been with the firm for more than four years, will be the next Chief Technology Officer.
Rao is Swiggy’s senior vice president of consumer technology and fintech (engineering and product).
Moneycontrol was told by a Swiggy spokeswoman that Vaz is leaving the company and is thinking about starting his own.He will continue with the organisation till the end of next month.
“We confirm Dale Vaz has decided to move on from Swiggy to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. He will continue in his role till May 2023 & will be associated with Swiggy for an extended period in an advisory role. We thank him earnestly for his many contributions to Swiggy,” a Swiggy spokesperson said in a statement
Rao, who has been with the firm for four years, will succeed.
“Madhusudan Rao will take over as CTO. Madhu has been with Swiggy for over 4 years and has decades of tech leadership experience with a proven track record of understanding what our customers need,” the spokesperson added.
This comes just days after Swiggy’s Instamart CEO, Karthik Gurumurthy, revealed he will be taking a leave of absence, with Phani Kishan Addepalli taking up his duties. Addepalli also oversees the company’s InsanelyGood division and was named Swiggy’s co-founder in July 2021.
